The Vikings (23-4) will be making the program's fifth straight NCAA playoff appearance and 18th overall. Salem captured the MASCAC postseason title for the fifth consecutive year and the 12th time in the tournament's 15-year history. Salem's opponent for the upcoming NCA tournament will be announced tomorrow night (March 1).
Salem, who led by as many as 26 early in the second half, was led to victory over the Bears by sophomore all-star guard Dewayne Cox who recorded his first collegiate triple-double of 11 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds. Viking sophomore all-star forward Shawn Bloom contributed a game-high 26 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists.
SSC junior all-star center Ifesinachi Anosike added 18 points (9 for 10 from the field and a game-highs of 12 rebounds and seven blocks. Junior guard Allen Reid added 17 points for Vikings, who have won six straight and eight of their last nine.
Bridgewater (13-13) was led by Matt Badiali (21 points, 6 rebounds), Ryan Anderson (13 pts.,11 assists and 8 rebs.) Jerry Richardson (16 pts., 5 rebs.), Peter Santos (13 pts., 6 rebs.).
