Colby-Sawyer jumped out to an early 24-6 advantage and the Bison (17-9) answered with 13 straight points. The Chargers led 32-25 at the break and ran off 10 unanswered points after surrendering the first basket of the second period. Nichols briefly pulled within nine, 44-35, but would not draw any closer.
Pat Kenny (FR, Wethersfield, CT/East Catholic HS) scored a career-high 17 points for Colby-Sawyer and teammate Chris Condon (JR, Reading, MA/Reading Memorial HS) chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds for the Chargers who advanced to the semifinals for the ninth straight year.
Anthony Smith (SR, Dover, NJ/Dean HS) paced the Bison with 16 points, while Matt Trumbley (SR, Seymour, CT/Seymour HS) and Casey Butler (SO, East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow HS) added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
