Benedictine played tough defense in the first half, holding Concordia to 28-percent shooting from the field, as the Eagles entered the break leading 34-18. The Eagles continued their strong defense in the second half as they out-rebounded Concordia 54-25 in the decisive victory.
Sophomore guard Matt Harrison scored a game-high 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. Harrison also recorded five rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal.
Junior center Will Crawford grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Crawford also had nine points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field, two blocks, and one assist.
Senior forward Isaac Russ had 10 points, three rebounds, and a steal.
Keith Peterson led Concordia with 14 points, five rebounds, and two steals.
The win improves the Eagles overall record to 18-7 and 9-3 in the NIIC. Benedictine will resume NIIC tournament play on Wednesday, February 25 when they host Eureka College at 7:30 p.m.
