Muhlenberg 91, McDaniel 69

Westminster, MD — The McDaniel College men’s basketball team fell to Muhlenberg College 91-69 Saturday afternoon. The Green Terror trailed the majority of the contest. Muhlenberg’s Donte Borden (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury) put the Mules ahead 4-3, 2:43 into the game on a free throw, and the Green Terror never sniffed the lead from that point on.

Muhlenberg’s Tom Scott (Edison, NJ / St. Joseph’s) led all scorers with 22 points after shooting 8-of-11 from the field, and also pulled down a game high seven rebounds. Jeff Stewart (Craydon, PA / George School) added 18 points for the Mules on an eight of 11 shooting effort. He also grabbed six rebounds.

For the Green Terror, freshman Sean McNeely (Silver Spring, MD / James H. Blake) scored a team and career high 17 points, while Alan Hoyt (Lexington Park, MD / Great Mills) added 12. Mike DiPiero (Huntington Valley, PA / Lower Moreland) also contributed 11 points, and dished out a game high seven assists.

The loss drops the Green Terror to 6-19 and 3-14 on the season, while Muhlenberg improves to 8-16 and 6-11. McDaniel returns to action on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 when the Green Terror hosts Washington College in the season finale.
