Johnson State 55, Elms 38

CHICOPEE, Ma. — Elms College senior forward Tina Fontaine (Granby, MA) tallied a team-high 18 points, but Johnson State College used a 12-2 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half to pull away to a 55-38 win over the Blazers in Saturday afternoon’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball game at the Maguire Center.

With the loss, the Blazers fell to 6-18, 6-12 NAC. Johnson State defeated Elms College for the second time in seven days and improved to 10-13 overall, 9-8 NAC.

The visiting Badgers were led by freshman guard Amanda Lockamy (Morrisville, VT), who netted a game-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers.

Johnson State will play its third game in three days on Sunday, February 22 when it hosts Mount Ida College.
