Benedictine shot 58 percent from the field in the first half as they took a 36-33 lead to the break. The Eagles out-rebounded the regular season conference champion Spartans 35-28 and made clutch shots in the five-point victory.
Senior forward Bryan Uselding scored a game-high 21 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field and 5-of-5 shooting from the free-throw line. Uselding also had a game-high 10 rebounds, as well as an assist and a block.
Sophomore guard Matt Harrison scored 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. Harrison also had four rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Junior center Will Crawford contributed 13 points. Crawford also had seven rebounds, including three offensive boards, one assist, and one block.
Junior guard Zach Ramey had a game-high five assists, as well as 14 points and four rebounds.
Adam McCoy led Aurora with 20 points, one rebound, and one assist.
The win improves the Eagles overall record to 17-7 and 9-3 in the NIIC. Benedictine will begin the NIIC tournament on Monday, February 23 when they host Concordia University at 7:30 p.m.
