Stolhandske played his third game since returning from the injury, which he sustained Jan. 26 in a road victory over Schreiner.
Tipping the ball with his left hand and gathering it with both hands, Stolhandske collected nine offensive and nine defensive rebounds and often scored on offensive tip-backs. Stolhandske, now averaging 13.9 rebounds per game, entered Thursday's game as the third-leading rebounder in NCAA Division III.
Stolhandske was 9-of-15 from the field with a team-high five assists in 33 minutes of action.
Jerrod Carpenter and Matt Nelson each added 12 points for the Bulldogs, who improved to 16-8 overall and to 8-5 in the American Southwest Conference West Division. Nelson contributed 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs can finish no higher than third in the division standings with Mary Hardin-Baylor's win Thursday over Schreiner. Mary Hardin-Baylor clinched second place in the division with the victory and eliminated the Bulldogs from a possible spot in the upcoming ASC Championship Tournament. The winner of the conference tournament receives the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
Sul Ross State and Mary Hardin-Baylor will represent the ASC West in the four-team conference tournament. The ASC East champion and runner-up will complete the tournament field.
Concordia-Austin fell to 10-14 overall and to 3-10 in the ASC West with Thursday's loss at TLU.
Darren Johnson led the Tornados with 14 points and six rebounds.
Texas Lutheran concludes its 2003-04 season with a 3 p.m. home game Saturday against Mary Hardin-Baylor.
