Andrew St. Clair (SO, Pittsfield, ME/Maine Central Institute) led the Chargers (17-6, 13-2 CCC) in their 13th CCC triumph with 24 points and nine rebounds, while teammate Brian Pendergast (SR, Canton, MA/Canton HS) scored a career-high 17 points. St. Clair went 11-for-13 from the field and Pendergast was a perfect 6-for-6, including five 3-pointers, in his final regular-season home game.
Clinging to an 18-17 lead eight minutes into the contest, Colby-Sawyer went on a 22-6 run to take a 17-point advantage. The Pilgrims (4-20, 2-13 CCC) drew within nine, 43-34, before the Chargers recorded the last 12 points of the opening period. Colby-Sawyer maintained an edge of at least 17 throughout the final half and was up by as much as 28.
Pat Kenny (FR, Wethersfield, CT/East Catholic HS) and Chris Condon (JR, Reading, MA/Reading Memorial HS) contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively for the Chargers and Tyler Fournier (FR, Westbrook, ME/Westbrook HS) chipped in nine points and six assists.
Eric Silney (FR, Lincoln, RI/Lincoln HS) connected on four trifectas and led New England College with 14 points. Antoine Sylvia (FR, Brockton, MA/Thayer Academy) had a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards, and Jay Bishop (JR, Colchester, CT/Bacon Academy) matched his dozen points.
Both teams return to the court for their regular-season finales on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Colby-Sawyer will face Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts and the Pilgrims are going to host Gordon College in Henniker, New Hampshire.
