Maryville led by five points at the half, but the Gorlocks combined to shoot 50 percent (15-30) from the field, 44 percent (4-9) from behind the arc and 67 percent from the charity stripe (8-12) in the second half to send the game into overtime.
In overtime free throws were a key factor. Webster went to the line 15 times and sank 12 freebies, while the Saints had only four attempts from charity stripe.
Maryville finished 39-81 (.481) from the field, 7-22 (.318) from three-point range and 19-30 (.633) from the free throw line and committed only 12 turnovers in 50 minutes.
Webster outrebounded the Saints 47-37 and shot 35-67 (.522) from the floor, 8-20 (.400) from behind the arc and 29-39 (.744) from the charity stripe for the game.
Leading the Gorlocks to victory were six players who scored in double figures. Brady Barke led the pack with a game-high 31 points and 12 rebounds. He shot 10-17 (.588) from the field, 2-3 (.667) from three-point range and was a perfect 9-9 (1.000) from the line.
Scott Spinner added 24 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Christian Basilio had 14 points and four boards. Also scoring in double figures for Webster were Kaniela Aiona (11), Steve Waterkotte (10) and Marshall Newman (10).
Maryville was led by sophomore Ryan Klein, who recorded a career-high 24 points on 10-15 (.667) shooting from the field, 1-3 (.333) from behind the arc and 3-6 (.500) from the line. He also added seven rebounds and two steals in the effort.
Junior Stephen Bash tallied 21 points and 10 boards for his 10th double-double of the season. Sophomores Matt Regan and Tim Elwell added 16 points and 10 assists respectively, while junior Marcus Henderson chipped in with 12 points.
Maryville will return to action this Saturday, when they travel to Greenville, IL, for their last regular season road game. The Saints will battle the Panthers of Greenville College in a SLIAC matchup for first place. Tip-off is 3:00 pm.
