Elms 45, Bay Path 26

CHICOPEE, Ma. — Elms College sophomore guard Mary Kate Roos (Ridgefield, CT) had a team-high 12 points, and seven rebounds to lead the Blazers to a 45-26 victory over Bay Path College in Wednesday evening’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball game at the Maguire Center.

Elms College snapped its two-game losing streak and improved to 6-16 overall, 6-10 NAC, while Bay Path fell to 2-18 overall, 2-14 NAC.

The Blazers led 20-9 at the half and limited the Wildcats to just 16 percent shooting on the way to the victory.

Senior forward Tina Fontaine (Granby, MA) had a team high 11 rebounds, sophomore guard Sarah Castro (Russell, MA) added eight points and 10 rebounds, and freshman forward Martha Arment (Lee, MA) contributed with seven points and 9 rebounds in the victory.

Sophomore guard Meaghan Cauley (South Hadley, MA) had a game-high 14 points in the loss for Bay Path.

The Blazers will play host to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent Castleton State College on Friday, February 20. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
