The victory pushes Concordia's conference mark to 17-5, the most league wins by a Cobber team since the 1999-00 season. The Cobbers are now 19-6 overall, one win shy of cracking the 20-win barrier for the 17th time in school history. Augsburg falls to 5-16 in the MIAC and 5-19 overall. Concordia will now wait until Saturday to find out who their opponent will be in the first round of the MIAC Tournament. The Cobbers will host either the #6 or #5 seed in the conference on Monday, February 23 at 7:30pm.
Jamie Visness led all scorers for Concordia. The junior wing scored 20 points and collected seven rebounds. Mandy Pearson was three steals shy of the elusive triple-double. She finished the game with 12 points, 10 assists and seven steals. Two other Concordia players put up double digit point totals. Selina Theisen, one of the top newcomers in the MIAC, scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Auggies. Julie Andert also finished with a double-double. She ended the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Concordia's regained their defensive intensity after allowing St. Mary's to score 71 points on Sunday. The Cobbers limited Augsburg to only 21.1% (8-for-38) from the field in the second half and 27.4% (20-for-73) for the game. Offensively, Concordia shot 41.9% (31-for-74) from the floor and 44.4% (8-for-18) from behind the arc.
Concordia only turned the ball over eight times, marking only the second time all season that they have not committed 10 or more turnovers. The Cobbers' bench outscored their counterparts 21-7, as nine different players scored at least two points.
