Benedictine’s balanced offense took a 36-20 halftime lead behind 54 percent shooting from the field. The Eagles played tough defense in the second half as they forced 24 turnovers in the game and out-rebounded Concordia 38-26.
Sophomore guard Matt Harrison led Benedictine with 10 points. Harrison also had four rebounds, one block, and one steal.
Junior center Will Crawford scored nine points on three-of-four shooting from the field. Crawford also had a game-high six rebounds, while contributing three assists and two blocks.
Junior guard Zach Ramey scored nine points and added four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Lonale Rowry led Concordia with a game-high 11 points, while Hans Stelzer had 10 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
The win improves the Eagles overall record to 16-7 and 8-3 in the NIIC. The Eagles will resume NIIC play on Saturday, February 21 when they host conference rival Aurora University at 3:30 p.m. Prior to the game, a ceremony will be held to honor the team’s seniors.
