Sul Ross ended the game with 14 3-pointers and shot 43.8 percent from the 3-point line.
Sul Ross' Larry Morales finished with 22 points and eight rebounds. He hit six 3-pointers. Chris Packer and Rick Herrera added 14 and 11 points, respectively. Packer made 4-of-7 shots from 3-point range.
Nik Summers led TLU with 20 points. Jerrod Carpenter added 12 points and 12 rebounds. Tommy Stolhandske registered 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The loss dropped Texas Lutheran to 15-8 overall and to 7-5 in the ASC West.
The Bulldogs still have an outside shot at a playoff berth for the conference tournament, but they will need help. TLU needs to win its last two games and hope that fellow ASC West contenders Mary Hardin-Baylor (9-3 ASC West), McMurry (7-5) and Howard Payne (7-5) stumble.
TLU has home games remaining with Concordia-Austin (this Thursday) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (this Saturday). Mary Hardin-Baylor defeated McMurry in double-overtime Saturday and moved to 9-3 in the ASC West. The Crusaders have a home game remaining with Schreiner (on Thursday) before traveling to Seguin on Saturday.
If Mary Hardin-Baylor wins Thursday, they will clinch a spot in the conference tournament.
Sul Ross leads the ASC West with a record of 10-2. The Lobos, the defending ASC West champions, are 16-7 overall. Mary Hardin-Baylor has defeated Sul Ross twice this season and would hold the tiebreaker over the Lobos.
