St. John Fisher 81, Ithaca 78

Ithaca, N.Y. — Junior point guard Nate Thomas hit a lay-up at the buzzer to force the first overtime as Ithaca erased a 15-point deficit in the final 3:48 of regulation before the Empire 8-leading Cardinals prevailed in a second overtime.

The Bombers had a chance at a game-winning shot at the end of overtime and a game-tying three-pointer at the end of the second overtime but could not convert.

Sophomore Jim Bellis scored a team-best 20 points, including a three-for-three performance from the free-throw line in the final seconds of regulation. Senior forward Tyler Schulz collected 17 points and 12 rebounds and junior guard Jesse Roth added 15 points.

Matt Morley scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Cardinals. Nick Bennett finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
