Edgewood College Sets Record with 18th Consecutive Winning Season
The Edgewood College (14-10, 9-2) men’s basketball team defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering (9-15, 5-6) 65-39 in a Lake Michigan Conference game in the Edgedome. With the win, the Eagles will have a showdown for the LMC championship on Tuesday at Concordia University in Mequon at 7:00 PM. Both teams go into the regular season finale sporting 9-2 conference records.
Edgewood led 33-24 at halftime. Four Eagles cracked the double figure barrier, led by junior guard Dave Michalkiewicz with 16. The three starting seniors, Luke Sadowski, Randy Kolinske, and Todd Paradis had 15, 10, and 10 points respectively on Senior Day. Matt Hopf led MSOE with 16 points.
With the win, the Eagles also guaranteed their 18th consecutive winning season in 18 years under head coach Dr. Steve Larson. This is the longest consecutive winning season streak by any NCAA III active coach in Wisconsin. It also the longest by any active college coach at the same institution in the state.
