Storm Lake, Iowa — Last night, BVU used a late first half rally to capture a first half lead over the Dutch by a score of 32-30 on a three pointer as time expired by the 2003 IIAC MVP, Eric Wiebers.

The cold shooting Beavers came out in the second half and went 18-36 from the field and won the game at the line shooting 17 more freethrows in the game than the Dutch. BV’s Scott Weber led all scoreres with 21 points. Jordan Campbell came off then bench to add 16 points.

With the results of last night's men's games, Luther and Central clinched the final two spots in the tournament. Dubuque has been eliminated. Also, BV has clinched the #1 seed in the tournament - with two games remaining, the worse BV can finish is 12-4 and the best Wartburg can finish is 12-4 but BV owns the head-to-head tie-breaker, as we have swept Wartburg this season.

Saturday, BVU will meet the Simpson Storm to clinch the out-right conference title. In their last meeting the Beavers pulled out a slim three point victory over the Storm. The Storm led at the half by a score of 29-27. BVU were chilly from the outside missing all seven attempts from beyond the arc in the opening half. The Beavers warmed up in the second half and would quiet the Storm by connecting on 7 of 11 three points attempts to secure the road victory. BVU’s Eric Wiebers led all scorers with 15 pionts. Randy Bissen finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Storm were led by starter Jason Burkhardt who finished with 13 points. Nick Boyd, Scott Ellens and Jason Soppe all came off the bench to add 10 points each in the loss.
