Rochester 85, Brandeis 69

WALTHAM, MA — Seth Hauben scored 27 points - including his 1,00th career point - as fourth-ranked University of Rochester defeated Brandeis University, 85-69, at the Auerbach Arena here.

The victory keeps UR (9-1 University Athletic Association, 20-1 overall) one game in front of Washington University (8-2, 16-5) in the UAA standings. UR plays at New York University on Sunday. Washington goes to Emory University in Atlanta.

Andy Larkin scored 16 points. Between them, Hauben and Larkin hit 18 of 25 shots from the floor (Hauben 11 of 15, Larkin 7 of 10). Brendan McAllister scored 12 points, including three three-point goals. Gabe Perez had six points and 11 assists, one shy of his career high.

Omri Ayalon scored 18 points for the Judges (3-7,6-14) and Bryan Lambert added 17.

Hauben and Larkin combined for Rochester’s first 15 points in the game. Hauben scored 11. He had 17 by halftime as UR built a 48-30 lead.

Hauben is the 22nd UR player to score 1,000 points in his career and the second this season. Larkin reached the milestone on December 6 in the Palestra vs. Carnegie Mellon.
