Sophomore guard Andrae Woodard also notched his first career double-double with 15 points and a career-high 11 assists. Junior guard Marcus Johnson added 20 points while sophomore guard Chris Thompson scored 14 points.
The Saints, who won their seventh game out the last eight and fourth-straight, held a comfortable advantage for the majority of the game, leading by as many as 15 in the first half after Thompson scored on a jumper to give the Saints a 23-22 edge with 6:56 left in the half that sparked a 18-4 run.
Thomas More ran that lead to as many as 17 in the second half, 80-63 with 8:36 left, before Asbury's 12-2 run cut the Saints' lead to seven, 82-75 with 5:57 remaining. However, Thomas More would answer with a 5-0 run to push the lead back to 12 and never let the Eagles get closer than nine for the remainder of the game.
The last time Thomas More won at least 10 games and was at .500 was at the end of the 1998-99 season when the team finished with a record of 12-11. That year was also the last time the Saints had a winning record. All of that could change as the team has five more games left on its schedule this year, beginning with a rematch against Asbury next Tuesday on the road in Wilmore, KY.
