Macalester 88, St. Thomas 76

St. Paul, Minn. — Scots Win In Overtime

Ben Van Thorre posted his sixth straight 20-point game, finishing with 29 points, 15 rebounds and six assists to lead Macalester (15-7, 14-3 MIAC) past visiting St. Thomas 88-76 in overtime Wednesday night in St. Paul. The Scots went 4-for-4 from the field and 6-for-6 from the foul line to out-score UST 15-3 in the extra session.

Nick Shader was 15-for-19 from the field and finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tommies (10-12, 8-9 MIAC). Shader tied the game in the final second of regulation with short jumper off the glass after picking up a lose ball as St. Thomas rallied from six points down in the final :30 to force overtime.

Chris Assel added 21 points and four assists for Macalester, while Brendan Bosman contributed a career-high18 points and six boards. Erik Jackson had six assists and five steals.
