Junior Brian Schaefer became the 20th player in AC history to top the 1,000th point mark and AC used unselfish play all night that led to several highlight reel passes and one unbelievable tip dunk by sophomore Mark Bohlen (five points, seven rebounds).
AC was led by sophomore Billy Collins' 23 points, on 6-of-11 triples. Collins also grabbed a team high seven rebounds on the night and dished out three assists in 30 minutes of action. Schaefer tossed in 20 points, on 7-of-19 shooting from the floor, including five triples. Schaefer also handed out six assists.
On the night, AC nailed 15-of-32 triples and outrebounded the Scots, 33-27. Alma managed to shoot 50 percent for the game, but had no answers for AC's unselfish play.
Senior Adam Novak added 11 points and two blocks, while sophomore Jeff Nokovich tossed in 11 points and handed out eight assists. Junior Anthony Thornton came off the bench in the first half when AC was struggling from the field and provided them with instant offense and seven quick points, while freshman Corey Smith chipped in seven points. Sophomore Nick Clark came off the bench as well and played great defense at crunch times in the game.
Alma was led by freshman Anthony Jones with an impressive 31 points, on 11-of-16 from the field, including seven triples.
AC will host Albion College on Saturday night in a pivotal game in the MIAA. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
