The Blugolds held control of the game for much of the first half. Casey Drake and Dan Archambault each hit a three-pointer in the first three minutes of play to give Eau Claire an early 6-4 lead.
Oshkosh would come back to tie the game momentarily before Drake scored seven consecutive Blugold points to put Eau Claire up 15-9. The Blugolds would keep the Titans at bay for the remainder of the first half with a last second lay-up by Archambault sending Eau Claire into halftime with a 33-30 lead.
Archambault started the second half the same way he ended the first to give the Blugolds a five-point lead. Oshkosh responded going on a 10-2 run to go up 40-37 with 13:24 remaining in regulation.
The teams went back-and-forth with the Titans going up 46-42 with 6:44 left. A Drake lay-up and a Kale Proksch free throw bring the Blugolds within one with 5:48 remaining. Eau Claire would get no closer as Oshkosh ended the game on an 11-2 run to seal the win.
Archambault led all scorers with 18 points while Drake added 12. Oshkosh was paced by Andy Fernholz with 12 points and Jim Capelle with 11.
Eau Claire matched their season-low shooting percentage from the field shooting 32.7 percent for the game. The Titans shot 44.2 percent from the field. The Blugolds outrebounded Oshkosh 33-31 including 14 offensive rebounds that led to 10 second chance points.
The Blugolds drop to 10-13 on the year and 4-10 in the conference action. The Titans improve to 13-9 overall and 7-6 in the WIAC.
Eau Claire will be in action next when they host UW-Stevens Point Saturday at Zorn Arena in the last home game of the year. The game is scheduled as part of a doubleheader and will begin at 5 p.m.
