Vassar 71, New Paltz State 61

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Winton, Williams lead Vassar past rival New Paltz 71-61

New Paltz, N.Y. (February 10, 2004) – Junior guard Jud Winton (San Francisco, Calif.) scored 18 points and junior forward Matt Williams (Sanford, Fla.) added 16 to lead Vassar College to a 71-61 non-conference men's basketball victory over SUNY New Paltz Tuesday evening.

Vassar (4-16) used a 16-0 run in the first half to build a 34-20 lead with two minutes to play in the half. Freshman forward Amseshem Foluke-Henderson led the Hawks with 21 points. Senior guard Jayvard Smith added 12.

Sophomore center Kyle Dickmann (Union, Ky.) had another impressive game off the bench for the Brewers, netting ten points and 11 rebounds in 22 minutes of play.

Vassar travels to Hamilton Friday for an 8 p.m. conference contest.
