The victory improves the Flying Dutchmen to 14-8 overall and 8-3 in the Commonwealth while the Greyhounds fall to 10-12 overall and 2-9 in the conference.
Moravian had a 32-29 halftime lead but the Flying Dutchmen missed just four shots in the second half while out scoring the Greyhounds, 51-38. Lebanon Valley was 16 of 19 (84.2 percent) from the floor after the intermission, including four of five (80 percent) on three-pointers. The Flying Dutchmen also hit 15 of 16 free throws (93.8 percent) in the second half. In contrast, Moravian made just 14 of 33 (42.4 percent) of its field goals in the game's second 20 minutes.
The Greyhounds finished the game at 27 of 67 (40.3 percent) from the floor, making seven of 20 three-pointers (35 percent). Moravian also connected on just nine of 14 free throws (64.3 percent) while Lebanon Valley was 16 of 18 (88.9 percent) from the charity stripe in the game. The Flying Dutchmen were 28 of 46 (60.9 percent) from the floor in the game and eight of 16 (50 percent) behind the three-point line. Lebanon Valley began the second half with an 8-0 run to take a 37-34 lead but Moravian responded with four straight points to take its final lead of the game of 38-37 with 17:36 remaining in the game. The Greyhounds did have a 32-30 advantage on the boards in the contest.
Harlor and Byers led a balanced scoring attack for the Flying Dutchmen, which saw a total of four players score in double figures. Harlor, who is now just seven points shy of 1,000 for his career, added six rebounds and three assists while Byers contributed five assists and three boards.
Sophomore forward Dave Kasyan tossed in 15 points and added four assists and three rebounds for Lebanon Valley while sophomore forward Dan Hogan had 12 points, a game-high eight rebounds and three assists. Junior forward Steve Buzinski tossed in nine points while freshman guard Jimmy Curran had five points, all from the foul line.
Moravian had three players score in double figures led by junior forward Brandon Zaleski, who netted a game high 21 points. Zaleski, who added six rebounds, became just the sixth player in Moravian history to reach 1,400 career points with a lay-up with 3:18 remaining in the game. Zaleski currently has 1,403 points, which is fifth in school history.
Sophomore forward Zach Zsilavecz added 14 points, six rebounds and three steals for the Greyhounds while senior guard Steve Weiler had 11 points and three assists. Sophomore forward Ed Reid tossed in seven points while sophomore forward Steve Wenderfer and sophomore guard Chris Betley each added six points. Wenderfer also had six rebounds while Betley had two boards.
Senior guard Kevin Wyers added five points and three rebounds for Moravian while senior guard Lucas Malishchak had three rebounds and six assists without committing a turnover in the game.
