Colby-Sawyer 93, University of New England 60

New London, N.H. — The Colby-Sawyer College men’s basketball team increased its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), regular season, home winning streak to 54 games with a 93-60 victory over the University of New England at the David L. Coffin Field House.

The Chargers (15-5, 11-1 CCC) jumped out to a 40-20 halftime advantage and maintained a comfortable lead throughout the second half. Clinging to a 16-14 advantage midway through the opening period, Colby-Sawyer went on a 20-4 run to push the margin to 18.

Colby-Sawyer connected on 53.6 percent (30-for-56) of its field goal attempts and was led by Andrew St. Clair (SO, Pittsfield, ME/Maine Central Institute) who went 8-for-11 from the floor and 6-for-7 from the line en route to a 22-point effort. Chris Condon (JR, Reading, MA/Reading Memorial HS) and Pat Kenny (FR, Wethersfield, CT/East Catholic HS) scored 13 points apiece for the Chargers and Brian Pendergast (SR, Canton, MA/Canton HS) chipped in 10 points.

Mark Regis (SO, Monroe, NH/St. Johnsbury Academy) and Dan Mills (SR, Windham, ME/Windham HS) paced the Nor’easters (6-15, 4-8 CCC) off the bench with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Both teams return to the court for conference home games on Saturday. Colby-Sawyer will host Roger Williams at 1:00 p.m. and UNE is scheduled to face Eastern Nazarene at 3:00 p.m. in Biddeford, Maine.
