The 16th-ranked Vikings beat Illinois College 89-59 Saturday in a Midwest Conference game at Alexander Gymnasium. The win comes on the heels of Friday's 81-50 win over Lake Forest College and Tuesday's 85-50 victory over St. Norbert College.
Lawrence (17-2, 11-1 MWC) took control early, going on a 13-0 midway through the first half to take a 33-14 lead. Lawrence led 45-21 at the half and put together a 13-3 in the second half for a 75-42 edge, and the Vikings never looked back.
Lawrence solidified its hold on first place in the Midwest Conference. The Vikings are now two games ahead of Carroll College in the loss column in the Midwest Conference standings and three games ahead of Grinnell College and St. Norbert in the loss column.
Chris Braier had another double-double for Lawrence, with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds. Brendan Falls chipped in with 12 points and Jason Holinbeck had 10.
The Vikings shot 32 of 63 from the floor (50.8 percent) and hit on 12 of 26 3-pointers (46.2 percent).
Dallas Petefish led Illinois College (8-11, 6-6) with 10 points.
