Eagles #9 Ranked NCAA Defense Holds Sabres to 45 Points
The Edgewood College (12-10, 7-2) men’s basketball team defeated Marian College (4-17, 1-9) 65-45 in a Lake Michigan Conference game in the Edgedome. The Eagle defense, ranked 9th in the NCAA, held the Sabres to just 45 points to secure the win. The Eagles forced Marian into 17 turnovers and held them to just 28% shooting from the floor.
Edgewood led 35-25 at halftime. The Eagles were led by senior guard Randy Kolinske with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals, and junior guard Dave Michalkiewicz with 15 points. Fidel Garcia had 10 points for the Sabres.
The Eagles, who are ½ game out of first place in the LMC pending the outcome of the Concordia-MSOE game this evening, will play at Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
