The Cobbers allowed the Knights to bolt to an 11-2 run at the start of the second half to erase a 34-27 lead. It is the first time this season that Concordia has failed to win after leading at halftime. The Cobbers had a 16-0 mark this season, when leading at the half. The main antagonist for Concordia was Carleton super sophomore Megan Vig. Vig scored a career-high 28 points, 22 in the second half alone. She only missed one shot in the decisive second period. She was 7-for-8 from the floor in the final 20 minutes. Beth Freeman was the only other Knight in
double figures. She scored 15 points, collected six rebounds and had four assists.
Beth Drager was impressive inside for the Cobbers. She finished with a team-high 15 points. She also swatted a career-high six shots and collected a game-high nine rebounds. Mandy Pearson, playing on a severely sprained ankle, scored 14 points and dished off six assists. Debbie Slack was the final member of the Cobbers in double digits. Slack scored 12 points and hauled down eight rebounds.
Concordia shot 41.9% (13-for-31) in the first half but followed that up with only 31.4% (11-for-35) in the final frame. The Cobbers held Carleton to only 37.9% (22-for-58) shooting from the field. It is the 10th straight game that the Cobbers have held their opponents to under 40% shooting
from the floor.
