The Lawrence University men's basketball team recorded its second consecutive blowout victory with an 81-50 Midwest Conference win Friday over Lake Forest College at Alexander Gymnasium.
The 16th-ranked Vikings (16-2, 10-1 MWC) used a 12-0 run in the first half to build a 42-30 lead at the break. Lawrence then opened the second half with a 22-8 outburst and rolled to the victory, its fourth straight over the Foresters (9-9, 6-5).
The Vikings were coming off an 85-50 win over St. Norbert College, which was the worst loss ever in Midwest Conference play for the Green Knights.
Junior forward Brendan Falls paced the Vikings with 17 points. He hit 6 of 7 shots from the floor, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range.
Chris Braier added 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds for Lawrence. Jason Holinbeck added 13 points for the Vikings, and Dan Evans dished out five assists.
Lake Forest didn't have a player in double figures, but Franklyn Beckford and Dodd Browning had nine points apiece.
