LANGHORNE, PA — Sophomore center Jeremy Coleman (Trenton, NJ/Nottingham) poured in 45 points on 19-for-23 shooting from the floor to power the Philadelphia Biblical University men’s basketball team over Rutgers University-Camden, 106-91, in a non-league game here Thursday.CSAC Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors

The Crimson Eagles, who took a 55-40 halftime lead, improve to 8-9. The Scarlet Raptors fall to 4-16 with their third straight loss.
The 106 points marked the fourth time this season the Raptors have allowed over 100 points. It was the most points allowed by Rutgers-Camden since a 114-57 home loss against Richard Stockton College Jan. 26, 2000.
PBU placed three other players in double figures, in addition to Coleman, who also added a game-high 17 rebounds, including 12 defensive boards, dished off four assists and blocked a game-high three shots. Freshman guard Chase Byler (Gap, PA/Pequea Valley) notched 18 points, while sophomore forward Dave Booher (Tully, NY/Faith Heritage) collected 15 points and six assists. Sophomore guard Flor Colon (Philadelphia, PA/Kensington) notched 11 points for the Crimson Eagles.
PBU shot 38-for-61 for the game (62.3 percent), while Rutgers-Camden went 34-for-70 (48.6).
The Scarlet Raptors were paced by senior guard Gene Mergenthal (Sicklerville, NJ/Highland), who collected a career-high 27 points, shooting 8-for-12 from the floor, including one three-pointer, and 10-for-14 from the foul line. Mergenthal also added eight rebounds and five assists, both team highs.
Mergenthal’s previous career high was 25 points, coming at Rowan November 25, 2003.
Junior guard Tyrone Rucker (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) scored 17 points for Rutgers-Camden, while senior guard Jonathan Jean-Louis (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) scored 14 points to tie his career high, which was set against William Paterson University Jan. 14, 2004. Freshman guard/forward Dane Nicholson (Pleasantville, NJ/Holy Spirit) notched 13 points and freshman guard Tim Genovese (Erial, NJ/Baptist) canned 12.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Saturday with an 8 p.m. road game at NJAC opponent New Jersey City University.
