The Hanover College men's basketball team extended their winning streak to 10 games defeating the Anderson University Ravens 60-44 in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest, Wednesday, Feb. 4, in Collier Arena.
Hanover improves to 19-1 overall and 9-0 in the HCAC. Anderson falls to 8-12 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
Senior guard Thad McCracken (Heltonville, IN) and junior forward Ryan Lanning (Brookville, IN) led the Panther attack scoring 14 points apiece. Junior forward Tommy Dennis added 10 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Senior guard Paul Wright tallied 12 points to lead the Ravens. Sophomore guard Ian Lafferty added eight points off the bench.
Anderson trailed 22-20 with just under 11 mintues remaining in the first half, only to see the Panthers pull away with a 16-3 run to end the half giving Hanover a 38-23 lead at the break. McCracken accounted for eight of those points, including two three-pointers, and Dennis tallied six more. The Ravens would get no closer than 14 points (44-30) in the second half.
The Panthers outrebounded Anderson 35-25 including a 12-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hanover shot 42.6% (23-54) from the field for the game, while the Ravens finished at 33.3% (16-44) for the night.
Hanover will host the Manchester College Spartans, Saturday, Feb. 7, in Collier Arena. The HCAC game will start at 3 p.m.
