Junior Kristi Huegel scored 18 points and host St. Thomas used a 52-34 rebounding edge in Monday's 82-55 victory over Augsburg in MIAC play at UST's Schoenecker Arena.
Huegel scored 11 points in the first five minutes to help push St. Thomas (10-9 overall, 9-7 MIAC) to a 28-4 lead. The Toms led 38-26 at halftime and used a 12-0 run to open the second half and take control.
Ashley Vossen scored a game-high 21 points for the Auggies (4-15, 4-12), including three 3-point baskets in 61-second stretch of the first half. Selena Theisen added 13 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.
Jenny Hable scored 10 points off the bench and Katie Wiberg added eight points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Tommies.
St. Thomas improved to 9-0 when it scores 70 or more points.
The Tommies host Concordia-Moorhead Wednesday.
