Coach Eddie Andrist was able to empty the bench and 13 of 16 players broke into the scoring column with Jacob Nonemacher leading the way with a double-double, scoring a game-high 13 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
The taller Blue Devils (7-3) held a huge lead off the glass, pulling down 55 rebounds to Macalester's (3-6) 32. Stout's Eric Heisler yanked down six rebounds, all coming in the first half, and Art Harris also finished with six boards.
Terry Farmer scored nine points in the second half to finish with 11 points. Jesse Huser chalked up 11 points, hitting 3-of-7 3-pointers.
The Scots were led by Tom Conboy, who also recorded a double-double, scoring 12 points and recording 10 rebounds. The Scots' leading scorer, Erik Johnson, was held to 10 points, two in the first half.
The 40 points by the Scots was the least allowed by a Stout opponent since defeating Northland, 81-38, Dec. 1, 2002.
