COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. — The Saint John’s University basketball team completed its non-conference schedule by defeating St. Scholastica 72-56 on Friday, Dec. 31, at Sexton Arena on the SJU campus.

SJU sophomore post Craig Schafer had 19 points and 12 rebounds, while junior post Paul Henrichs collected 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore point guard Matt Ohme had nine points and 11 assists for the Johnnies.

Senior guard David Kapaun and junior center Josh Gosar each scored 10 points for the Saints.

SJU led 41-25 at halftime. The Johnnies shot 58.8 percent (30-of-51) from the field and held a 39-26 rebound advantage in the game.

SJU improved to 4-5 overall, while the Saints fell to 3-6 overall.
