Martinez had five assists in the game to move one past previous record holders Terri Rogers and Kelly McClure with 354 in her career. She also paced the Cowgirls with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
HSU shot just 38 percent for the game, but made up for it on the defensive end, limiting the Lady Rams to 25 percent for the game. Shawndrika Carpenter was TWU’s only player in double figures with 13 points.
The Cowgirls improved to 8-1 on the year and Texas Wesleyan fell to 7-6. HSU will return to American Southwest Conference action, when it travels to Sherman for a tilt with ASC East-leading Austin College.
