Claremont pushed the lead to 72-67 before Bogaards made it a three-point game with 2:23 remaining. Johnelle Parsons scored 19 seconds later to give CMS a 74-69 lead. Bogaards scored Simpson’s final basket with 55 seconds remaining. Parsons made 1-2 free throws with eight seconds to go for the final 75-71 score.
Kolbeck led all scorers with 25 points. Bogaards led the Storm with 18. Freshman Carlie Beals scored a career high 14 for Simpson.
Simpson resumes Iowa Conference action Jan. 5 when the Storm host Wartburg in a 6 p.m. tip.
