ARLINGTON, Va. — Junior guard Leigh Sulkowski (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) posted game-highs of 25 points and 14 rebounds as Washington & Jefferson defeated Kean (N.J.), 64-49, in the consolation game of the Marymount Women’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday evening at the Verizon Sports Arena.

Kean closed to within 27-26 with 53 seconds remaining in the first half, but junior center Sheana Malyszka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) converted 1-of-2 free throws with 14 seconds left to make it a 28-26 halftime advantage.

Brittany Cleveland tied the game 20 seconds into the second half, but a 16-6 W&J run gave the Presidents the lead for good. Sulkowski scored eight points during the stretch for Washington & Jefferson.

W&J extended its lead to as many as 20 points (61-41) late in the second half and cruised to the 15-point triumph.

Sulkowski made 12-of-24 shots and added two steals to lead the Presidents.
