Lycoming 97, Kings Point 79

ASHLAND, Va. — The Lycoming College men’s basketball team remained undefeated improving to 10-0 on the season with a 97-79 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy – Kings Point, Wednesday evening. The contest was the opening game for the 2004 Rees Jewelers Christmas Classic hosted by Randolph-Macon College. Kings Point falls to 4-3 with the loss.

The Warriors used a 9-0 run midway through the first half to take control of the game. The run consisted of back-to-back-to-back three-point baskets by Patrick Baylor, Jonathan Pribble, and Kevin Morris, respectively. Lycoming held a seven-point advantage at halftime before extended their margin to 18 by game’s end.

Pribble led the Warriors in scoring with 27 points, while also grabbing five rebounds and handing out four assists. Morris added 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Baylor and Brad Musser each reached double-digits as well, with 13 and 10 markers, respectively. Musser also tallied a team-high five assists. Jeremiah Edison led the team in rebounding with nine boards to go with six points.

The Mariners were led by Josh Buck with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sky Holm added 13 points and Paul Tricarico contributed 11 points.

Lycoming advances to the championship game of the tournament with the victory and will face the winner of the Randolph Macon-Dickinson contest in tonight’s second game. The championship game is scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 30.
