Bethany pulled away early and never looked back. The Bison jumped on top 19-7 with 13:10 remaining in the game and took an 11-point, 44-33 lead into the intermission.
After pushing ahead in the first half, Bethany dominated the second half. An 11-point run midway through the second half allowed Bethany to cushion their margin by 24.
Bethany dominated the rebounding phase of the contest, earning a 43-25 advantage over the Yeomen (1-9) on the glass. Bethany also shot 52 percent to Oberlin’s 42.
On the game, Mike Drahos led the Bison men with 19 points while chipping in eight rebounds. Brother Matt Drahos recorded a game-high 12 rebounds while scoring 11. Scott Mezyk added 15 points for Bethany while starters Chris Stephens and Brandon Duncan earned 14 points apiece.
Oberlin was led by Dwayne Evans’s 18 points. Jordan Beard tossed in 16 in the loss.
