After holding Simpson on their final possession, Mt. St. Mary had two chances to win. With 24 seconds left, Weldon attempted a long three which was rebounded by Kenny Lane. Lane passed the ball to the Blue Knights' point guar Mike Hoyt with two seconds to go. His 22 footer came up short, putting the Storm in the finals of the tournament on Dec. 22.
Simpson's Jason Parkinson led the Storm with 19 points. Martin scored a season high 11 points to compliment his five rebounds and three assists.
The Blue Knights were led by Weldon who had 19. Lane and Sergio Guzman each scored 12 while Hoyt added 10.
Simpson will play either #5 Hanover or Ripon Dec. 22 in Lied Gymnasium on the campus of UNLV.
