Shenandoah 69, Mary Washington 56

WINCHESTER, VA — The University of Mary Washington men's basketball team shot just 34.4% from the floor in falling at Shenandoah University, 69-56, on Saturday. The Eagles fall to 5-3 on the season.
The Eagles trailed throughout the contest, by as many as eleven points in the first half, but were able to cut the halftime deficit to four with a Kevin Moore layup with one second in the first frame.
In the second half the Hornet lead varied from three to thirteen, which was the final margin. Freshman forward Justin Baker led UMW with 22 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Mike Lee added 21 points. The Eagles were outrebounded, 39-29, but had just 13 turnovers in the game, compared to 22 for the Hornets.
The Eagles will be back in action on December 29, when they visit the University of the Virgin Islands at 2 pm.
