Head coach Dick Peth’s team, improving to 4-2 and concluding a perfect week, used a balanced offensive and defensive attack to spurn the No. 9-ranked team in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic’s Division II. The Orange and Black shot 56.5 percent from the field and hit on 12 of 27 three-point attempts on the offensive end while maintaining a 39-32 edge on the boards, blocking 10 Tiger shot attempts and picking up nine steals.
Junior guard Jason Steege led the offensive parade, scoring 18 points. Junior forward Joel Formanek came off the bench to add 10, while junior center Nate Schmidt, ending a 30-point week, tallied nine points, six rebounds and six blocked shots in the paint.
