12/11/04- Things did not click on either side of the ball for the East Texas Baptist Tigers as they were dominated by Sul Ross in a 93-67 ASC drumming Saturday at the Gallego Center.
The Tigers were slow from the field hitting 36.9% of its shots from the floor and 11.1% from 3-point range.
Technical fouls did not help the ETBU effort as the Tigers were charged with 3 technicals with 1 T called against the bench early in the game.
Cedric Isom was the lone Tiger in double figures with 25 points and led the team in rebounds with eleven.
For such a high scoring contest, the Lobos only had 3 players score in double figures led by Sid Hooper (Andrews) as he tallied 24 points for the afternoon along with 2 assists. Hooper made 5 of 6 free throws and went 3 of 11 from 3-point range. Rick Herrera (Alamogordo, NM) and Aaron Hardwick (El Paso) put up 14 points apiece in the victory. Herrera also led the team with 5 assists.
Rock Owens (Wharton) and Justin Steward (Texico, NM) led rebounders with 8 boards apiece. Owens and Steward were also credited with 2 blocks each against the Tigers.
As a team, Sully shot 55.2% from the floor, 35% from 3-point land and 50% from the foul line.
The Lobos, 6-1 and 5-1 in season and conference records, will face the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets in a 5:00 p.m. tip-off Tuesday evening at the Gallego Center.
