Richard Stockton 71, New York City Tech 69

NEW YORK — NEW YORK, NY – Freshman guard Mario Lancioni (Triton/Runnemede, NJ) scored the last six points, including 4-4 effort from the charity stripe, for Richard Stockton College in a 71-69 victory over New York City College of Technology in men’s basketball tonight.
The game was played as part of a quadrupleheader in the 2004 CUNY / NJAC Challenge at CCNY. The challenge to see who’s the top Division III conference in the Metropolitan area is being played at six different CUNY Athletic Conference sites today featuring all ten members from each league versus the other for 20 total games (men and women).
The Ospreys (4-4) shot 16 -17 from the free throw line in the game (94.1), with their only miss coming in the first half. Lancioni and senior center Brian Hiltner (Holy Spirit/Margate, NJ) each scored 19 points to lead the team. Junior forward Tobias Smith (Bloomfield Tech/Newark, NJ) had 15 points and eight rebounds and Brooklyn product Sid Jackson (Liberty County/Brooklyn, NY) added 11 points in the victory.
City Tech’s (5-3) two seniors, Jason Senior (Satellite Academy/Brooklyn, NY) and Shacun Malave (DeWitt Clinton/Bronx, NY) led the way once again. Senior finished with a season-high 27 points and seven rebounds, while Malave, collected 20 points and a game-high 16 caroms. The Yellow Jackets shot a miserable 39.7% for the game, including 4-24 from long distance. Also, no other City Tech player reached double figures in points for the first time this season.
