Wilkes 100, Misericordia 89

Dallas, PA — The Wilkes University men’s basketball team raced out to a 21-point halftime lead and held off a second half rally by College Misericordia to defeat the Cougars, 100-89, Saturday afternoon in the Anderson Center.

John Yaniello led the Colonels with 34 points, including 24 in the first half, while Andre Little led CM with a career-high 38 points, including 18 of 20 from the free throw line.

Mike Constantine had 22 points for the Colonels and Ryan Milford added 16.

Corey Brown had 19 for the Cougars and Josh Kendrick added 16.

Wilkes shot 80.0 % from the floor in the first half (24-30) and was 85.7% from three-point range (12-14).

CM chipped away at the lead throughout the second half and cut the deficit to seven, 81-74, with 5:29 to play. The Cougars got within seven points four times throughout the final five minutes, but couldn’t get any closer.

Wilkes improved to 5-2 while CM fell to 4-5.
