ONEONTA, N.Y. — Senior guard Paris Moore (Kellenberg Memorial/Hempstead, N.Y.) scored a game-high 21 points and junior guard Neil Wesson (Portsmouth/Portsmouth, R.I.) added 14, leading Rensselaer to a 70-61 non-conference victory over Hartwick College in the consolation game of the Holiday Inn Classic at Oneonta State on Saturday.

Moore had 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting in the first half to help the Red Hawks (3-3) take a 36-30 lead into halftime.

In the second half, freshman forward Sterling Green (Burlington Township/Burlington Township, N.J.) hit two free throws for the Hawks (1-6) to cut the lead to 65-61 with 1:14 remaining. Rensselaer then scored five straight points from the free throw line to finish the scoring.

Moore also contributed seven rebounds and four steals, and junior forward Matt Zepernick (Northport/Northport, N.Y.) had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Junior forward Tom Schneider (Bishop Guertin/Nashua, N.H.) finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman forward Josh Mackenzie (Mount Saint Joseph Academy/Springfield, Vt.) had 18 points, six rebounds and two steals to pace Hartwick. Freshman swingman Greg Betancourt (Northern Highlands/Allendale, N.J.) had 13 points and five rebounds, and Green contributed 11 points and six rebounds.
