Following the victory, the Crusaders improve to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the OAC while the Purple Raiders fall to 3-4 and 0-2 in the conference.
Capital led by as many as 10 with 5:53 left in the first half and led 36-29 at the half.
The Crusaders started the second half on a 11-6 run to lead by 12 points with 14:33. Mount Union then would erase the Crusaders lead when they tied the score at 59-59 with 4:13 left in the game.
The Crusaders then went on a 11-3 run to close the game out and earn the 70-62 victory.
Senior Jake Beck led three Crusaders in double digits with a team-high 18 points. Sophomore David Johnson and senior David Kalb scored 15 and 12 points respectively
Mount Union's Kyle Karpinski led the Purple Raiders with a game-high 27 points.
Capital looks to stay perfect in the OAC when they host Baldwin-Wallace College next Saturday (Dec. 18) at 3 p.m.
