Baruch (7-1, 2-1 CUNYAC) trailed by 10 points (53-43) with 14:08 left in the game, but went on an 11-0 run during the next three minutes to take a 54-53 lead thanks to a Melissa Freeman three-point play that started the run.
Both teams exchanged numerous baskets for brief one-point leads during the latter stages of the game, but lay ups by Ally Stamatiades and Reid gave Baruch its biggest lead of the second half (73-68) at 3:58.
Kean (3-4, 2-2 NJAC) battled back and took a 76-75 lead on a pair of free throws by Tahnisha Barge with 10 seconds left.
Paradise, last week’s CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, took control of the inbounds pass and went the length of the court before being fouled in the paint with seven seconds. She calmly hit her two free throws and then watched the defense steal the incoming pass to keep Kean from attempting a final shot.
Paradise finished with 23 points and four steals, while Jessenia Marrero (14 points), Ally Stamatiades (12 points, nine rebounds), and Reid (11 points, eight rebounds) scored in double-figures. Diane Ramirez finished with nine assists and seven steals.
Kean received a monster performance from their frontcourt behind Chari' Cooper (15 points, 21 rebounds) and Danielle Mosely (nine points, 14 rebounds). Missy Magyar and Nina Oshiokpekhai each finished with 13 points.
In the first women's game of the day at Baruch involving the CUNYAC/NJAC Challenge, Richard Stockton defeated York by the score of 70-56.
Two men's games remain this evening in the ARC Arena with York to face Kean and Baruch hosting College of New Jersey.
