St. John's 81, Presentation 70

COLLEGVILLE, Minn. — Saint John’s University sophomore point guard Matt Ohme had 22 points to lead the Johnnies to a 81-70 non-conference win over Presentation College, S.D. on Friday, Dec. 10, at Sexton Arena on the SJU campus in Collegeville, Minn.

The game was tied 33-33 at intermission and the Saints largest lead was at 49-43 with 13:43 remaining in the game. SJU took the lead for good at 4:28 of the second half on two free throws by Matt Ohme. The game saw 19 lead changes and 12 ties.

SJU junior post Paul Henrichs collected his third consecutive double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman point guard Jon Kaus added 10 points. Ohme was 8-for-8 from the free throw line.

For Presentation, senior guard Ryan Hansen had 15 points and six rebounds, while junior guard Marcus Robinson and senior forward Josh Mach each had 12 points. Senior guard Tyler Wenbourne had six rebounds and four assists.

SJU shot 52.7 percent (29-of-55) from the field and 15-of-17 (88.2 percent) from the free throw line. The Johnnies had 35 rebounds, compared to 32 for the Saints. SJU also had six blocked shots in the win.

Presentation was 26-of-62 (41.9 percent) from the field and only 4-of-23 (17.4 percent) from the three-point line.

SJU improved to 3-3 overall, while Presentation fell to 2-2 overall. SJU will host Division II cross-town rival St. Cloud State on Saturday, Dec. 11, in Collegeville. Presentation will host Mount Marty on Sunday, Dec. 12, in Aberdeen, S.D.
