Worcester, MA — Jermaine Cannon (Dorchester, MA) scored a game-high 19 points and co-captain Ryan Connor (Worcester, MA) added 16 as the Worcester State College men’s basketball team evened their record at 3-3 defeating the visiting Bison of Nichols College, 76-70, Thursday evening in Lancer Gymnasium on the campus of Worcester State College. The loss drops the Bison to 2-4.

The Lancers took a, 43-31, halftime lead as Connor scored all 12 of his first half points from behind the three-point arc shooting 4-5 from outside range. Worcester State had a, 30-29, lead with 4:41 remaining in the first half before closing with a 13-2 run getting three point baskets from Connor, Tom Sullivan (Auburn, MA) and Will Spont (Bellingham, MA).

Nichols was paced by Chris Vallee (Ashburnham, MA) with 8 first half points and Ron Powers (Millville, MA) who chipped in with 7.

The Lancers extended their lead to 19 points in the first five minutes of the second half with Cannon leading the way with 6 points in the run.
