Colby-Sawyer 87, Bowdoin 73

NEW LONDON, N.H. — Andrew St. Clair (Pittsfield, Maine) scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team to an 87-73 win over Bowdoin on Thursday night in New London.

James Thorpe (Concord, N.H.) pitched in with a career-high 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Eight of Thorpe's points came during a 1:07 stretch with 10 minutes to play in the game, putting the Chargers (5-1) up by 13. Bowdoin (5-3) would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way.

Tyler Fournier (Westbrook, Maine) added 15 points for the Chargers, who improve to 5-1 on the year.

Kyle Petrie (Iowa City, Iowa) led the Polar Bears with 20 points and 10 rebounds, as Bowdoin placed five players in double figures. Three players - Kevin Bradley (Seekonk, Mass.), Mark Yakavonis (Barrington, R.I.) and John Goodridge (Merrimack, N.H.) - had 11 points each, while Anderw Hippert (Spencer, Mass.) had 10.

Colby-Sawyer returns to play at Amherst on Saturday, December 11, at 2:00 p.m.
